The American Water Works Association’s (AWWA) 50,000 members deliver clean and safe water to homes and businesses across North America 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. AWWA is recruiting for a Marketing Manager focused on growing and retaining AWWA membership. This job contributes to and executes the go-to-market strategy and marketing plans for AWWA membership business and cross-sell business opportunities. You’ll make essential business decisions that achieve strategic objectives of generating leads and driving revenue growth for AWWA.
This is not a fully remote position. AWWA offers a hybrid schedule of 3 days in the office and 2 days remote.
Position Objective/General Purpose
Contributes to and executes the go-to-market strategy and marketing plans for AWWA membership business and cross-sell business opportunities. Uses qualitative and quantitative research methods to perform segmentation, target, position, and recommend the marketing mix. Analyzes data, assesses market trends, conducts the content review, prepares reports, and makes essential business decisions that achieve strategic objectives of generating leads and driving revenue growth for AWWA.
Essential Job Functions
Learns the membership business, and owns all campaigns aimed at driving new memberships, renewing existing memberships, and re-engaging lapsed memberships.
Working with stakeholders, identifies cross-sell opportunities and then initiates campaigns with an eye toward measurable results.
Supports the execution of a cohesive marketing strategy and campaign plans that drive revenue growth.
Provides marketing strategy recommendations as needed in response to relevant data and feedback.
Translates business needs into marketing programs with measurable results.
Assures proper alignment for key activities with business objectives, develops messaging and assets, identifies lead gen opportunities and accesses reporting/metrics.
Travels (up to 20%) to industry trade shows to represent membership marketing and promote member engagement.
Manages and adheres to budgets.
Requirements
Education, Certification or Formal Training:
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field or equivalent combination of education and related experience required
Work Experience:
Minimum of 5 years marketing support experience
Proven ability to synthesize data and other types of information to write engaging, clear and concise content and messaging.
Experience in supporting development of marketing assets and initiatives.
Demonstrated success working with cross-functional teams.
Proficiency in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook); proficiency in database management required
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Pay is targeted between $82,000 - $84,400 / year depending on experience and is paired with a comprehensive benefits package that includes:
